To Infinity & Art Supplies: Hands-On Crafts Inspired by Toy Story 5

Roylco craft pairings for when you're done watching the movie

If you've already taken the kids to see Toy Story 5, you know that it hits differently. Watching Woody, Buzz, and Jessie fight to stay relevant in a world of tablets and touchscreens isn't just a kids' movie plot. It is something we are finding to be more familiar everyday. The message at the heart of Toy Story 5 is simple: kids need to play. Real play. Hands-on, messy, imaginative, make something out of nothing play. The type of play that can't be replicated on a tablet.

So we did what we do best here at Roylco, and turned it into a craft day! We rounded up three products inspired by the characters and themes of the franchise. From out-of-this-world creations to friendship inspired keepsakes, we believe this will bring the message of the movie right into your home or classroom.

Rocket Ship Weaving Mats

Buzz lightyear has always believed in reaching for the stars... and now your kids can too!🌟 Our Rocket Ship Weaving Mats let kids weave colorful paper strips through precut slits to build their very own rocket ship. Once completed, they can pop in an astronaut porthole or a picture of themselves. Creating a personalized, out-of-this-world craft they'll love!

Looking for a rainy day activity that actually keeps the kids busy? Try this out: Set out your weaving mats, put on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, and let your kids go to town. It's also a wonderful addition to any homeschool curriculum! Pair this activity with a library book about space and you've got yourself a full afternoon of learning!

Calling all teachers!🍎 Rocket Ship Weaving Mats are a fantastic fine motor activity for early learners and a great introduction to the over-under weaving pattern. Have kids study the pattern and how it works to tie it into a weaving lesson. Or even better... an astronomy lesson! Encourage students to learn about space, astronauts, and the different planets. The possibilities are limitless!

Friends Stained Glass Frames

At its core, Toy Story has always been about one thing, the importance of friendship. Woody and Buzz. Jessie and the gang. The idea that who you're with matters more than what you're watching. Our Friends Stained Glass Frames bring that same spirit to the craft table. Kids fill the beautiful pre-cut frames with colorful tissue paper or Stained Glass Paper, creating a glowing, light-catching window art that's meant to be shared. Make one for a best friend or a parent and watch as their face lights up. Hang them in a sunny window and let the light do the rest.

Parents, this makes for a perfect post-movie activity. Just took the family to see Toy Story 5 together? Come home, clear the kitchen table, and get to crafting! Encourage your kids to make a stained glass frame for someone they love or of themselves. It is a beautiful way to keep the conversation going about friendship, kindness, and why the people in our lives matter more than a screen. Not to mention grandparents will love them!!!

Calling all teachers!🍎 These frames are a beautiful addition to any friendship or community-building unit. Have each student make a frame for a classmate and have them swap them at the end of the activity. A simple craft turned into a whole classroom moment kids will actually remember.

Picture Frame Puzzle Pieces

Here's something Lilypad will never understand - the satisfaction of clicking the last puzzle piece into place.🧩 Our Picture Frame Puzzle Pieces let kids color, decorate, and assemble their very own puzzle photo frame. Every frame is a blank canvas that you can decorate using paint, markers, or collage materials. Pop in a favorite photo or a piece of artwork and you've got a keepsake that's 100% handmade! Because just like the toys in Toy Story 5, everything's better when you build it together.

For parents and homeschool families this craft makes for a beautiful keepsake. In need of a meaningful playdate craft? This does just the trick. Set out the frames, lay out craft supplies, and watch as the kids design and create. Once completed, they can piece together the frames and admire what they made!

Calling all teachers!🍎 These Picture Frame Puzzle Pieces also make for an incredible group activity. Have every kid in your class decorate their own frame and pop in a photo of themselves. To make it even more engaging, have students write something about themselves right on the frame. This could include a fun fact, their name, favorite food, etc. Once everyone is done, assemble all the frames together and display them as a classroom gallery. Instant bulletin board moment!
