This good enough to eat craft is a great way to practice shapes!
Age: 4+
Duration: 10 minutes (plus drying time)
Learning Outcomes: Exercise fine motor skills. Practice scissor skills.
You’ll Need:
- R2183 Fancy Stringing Rings
- Paper Plate
- Washable Marker
- Crayons
- White glue
- Scissors
Start this craft by cutting a hole in the center of your paper plate. Use a pencil to punch a hole to get your scissors started in.
Next, draw a squiggly line in the middle of the paper plate. This is where your icing line will be. Choose your icing color (we picked pink) and color in the area between the hole you cut out of the paper plate and your squiggly line.
Now color in the rest of your donut!
Now it’s time to add the sprinkles! You’ll notice that the fancy stringing rings are in a variety of shapes. Young artists can glue shapes on at random. Older students can choose their favorite color or shape to glue down. Make sure to take the time to ask students what their system is. Ask them to describe the shapes and name them. To keep this craft neat, use a goo spreader to apply a thin layer of glue before placing the stringing rings.
Let the glue dry thoroughly before trying to display these delicious looking crafts!
